Google recently announced its ‘Year in Search 2022’ results for Indian users, offering us an insight into what people have searched on the search engine in the current year. The list, which is published yearly, covers a wide range of themes and topics, including popular movies, sports, news, and events.<\/p>\n

As per this year’s Google rankings for the “Year in Search 2022,” the Indian Premier League (IPL), CoWIN, and the FIFA World Cup 2022 were the top three trending searches. This year’s list, when compared to last year’s data, reveals a dramatic shift in search trends because, in 2021, users primarily searched for keywords connected to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

People also searched sporting events, including the Asia Cup and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which came in fourth and fifth position, respectively, in Google’s “Year in Search 2022.”<\/p>\n

The “Agneepath Scheme” generated a lot of searches in 2022 as it topped Google Search’s “What is” category. In this section, Indian internet users also searched for NATO, NFT, and PFI.<\/p>\n

In the movies category, the first place went to the VFX-heavy Bollywood film “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva,” followed by “KGF: Chapter 2” at number two. Along with these titles, moviegoers also looked up Kantara, Pushpa: The Rise, RRR, Kashmir Files, and Vikram. Lal Singh Chaddha, Drishyam 2, and Thor Love and Thunder were also among this year’s top 10 movie searches.<\/p>\n

Under the “Near me” section of Google Search in 2022, the most popular searches were “covid vaccination near me,” which was followed by “swimming pool,” “water park,” and “movies.”<\/p>\n

Similarly, “how to get PTRC challan” came in second on the “how to” list after “how to download vaccination certificate.” Indian Google users also searched for information on how to create an e-SHRAM card, link a voter ID with an Aadhar card, submit an ITR online, play Wordle, and other topics.<\/p>\n

Under “Personalities,” Indians searched for suspended BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma. Droupadi Murmu, the president of India, came in second, with Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, coming in third.<\/p>\n

The demise of Lata Mangeshkar and Sidhu Moosewala were the top searches in news events, followed by the Russia-Ukraine War. People also showed a lot of interest in the UP elections and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.<\/p>\n
